Taming a beast.
When it comes to performance SUVs, Europe has a strong hold on the market with the Cayenne Turbo S, BMW X5 M, ML63 AMG, and others. They’re fast, refined, and exciting. But, America has its own SUV that’s ready to slug it out with the best of them and isn’t afraid to spin it’s COR Cinco forged wheels and burn some rubber in the process.
[singlepic id=2647 w=640 h= float=]
The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is a straightforward SUV. It’s big, has a refined interior, and a brutal, American V-8 that hammers the pavement with power. The second-generation SRT8 model features a potent naturally-aspirated 6.4-liter V-8 engine with 465 horsepower and 465 lb-ft. of torque. The team at Automotive Connoisseur Group has taken things a step further with COR Wheels and some engine upgrades that unleash the beast.
[singlepic id=2648 w=640 h= float=]
To start things off, Automotive Connoisseur Group upgraded the 6.4-liter HEMI engine with a few goodies to ensure its bark matched its bite. The stock exhaust system was removed and replaced with a custom-fabricated header-back system that optimizes backpressure and emits a fierce roar at the touch of the throttle. A new custom-fabricated cold air intake system was also installed to improve airflow and draw cooler air into each of the eight combustion chambers. The result of the upgrades is a dyno-certified 365 horsepower and 366 lb-ft. of torque to the wheels.
[singlepic id=2649 w=640 h= float=]
That’s a massive improvement over the stock figures, but it’s worthless unless that 365 whp is spinning COR Cinco forged wheels. Automotive Connoisseur Group opted to install a set of Cinco forged wheels on the black performance SUV in a wide 22 x 10 stance for the front and rear axles. Each of the forged aluminum alloy wheels were equipped with 305/35/22 Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta performance tires to achieve greater traction for the mighty 6.4-liter HEMI. The finishing touch for the COR wheels was a slick satin black center finish and gloss black outer rim to match the metallic black exterior paint of the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 with COR Cinco forged wheels and upgraded HEMI engine will surely knock the socks off its European competition.

Due to some unfortunate circumstances regarding a set of COR forged wheels, we feel that it is necessary to publicly address the situation and reiterate our company’s commitment to quality and customer service that has helped us build a strong reputation within the industry.
We are sure that many of you feel this response is long overdue, but given the sensitive nature and legalities involved, we had no alternative but to proceed with care, so as not to inflame an already volatile situation. Until this time, we have had nothing but excellent feedback and reviews from our clients concerning our products and service. In relation to the number of wheels that we have produced, our warranty adjustments have been less than one tenth of one-percent, which is a superb standard for any manufactured product. This is due in no small part to our commitment to building long lasting relationships with our distributors and returning customer base whose support is well recognized and very much appreciated.
The isolated incident that occurred with one of our clients was very unfortunate and unforeseeable, and we are thankful that there were no injuries. The product involved was designed, developed and third-party tested to ensure its integrity, strength, and reliability. The safety of our customers is extremely important to us, and is not a matter taken lightly by any member of our organization.
It is customary–and our preference–to service our customers directly. The client elected to bypass our resolution process by communicating with us through third parties (specifically an attorney). We sincerely hope that those following this series of events can appreciate that we had no other option than to turn this matter over to our product liability carrier, which exists specifically to address situations such as this. To be clear, the claim for warranty denied on the published letter was a response to the client’s attorney’s demand letter, and not COR Wheels refusing to stand behind its product. Prior to the involvement of legal counsel, the client was offered a full refund, regardless of any specific warranty considerations. We would like to clarify that the revisions made to our warranty were a direct result of the client’s attorney’s assertion that our terminology was vague. This does not speak of the safety and appropriateness of the product, which we feel is 100-percent safe for use on or off the track, but rather to the applicability of our warranty. With this revision, our warranty policy is more in-line with industry norms, which even at the OEM level precludes the use in a track environment.
As a final thought, we at COR wheels want to reiterate our commitment to the performance aftermarket and help further everyone’s understanding of the process and technology behind automotive wheels. We have a standing invitation for any interested party or any member of the media to visit our headquarters in Florida, tour our facilities, and meet the individuals responsible for designing, creating, and manufacturing the products that we are so very proud to offer. We sincerely hope that you will avail yourselves of this offer so that you may observe first-hand, our manufacturing and quality control process and the effort that goes into each and every product that leaves our facility.

The BMW X5M is a vehicle of contradictions. It’s not supposed to be that fast; it’s not supposed to handle that well; it’s not supposed to look that good. But that’s exactly what it does, and does extremely well with its new COR Bayonet forged wheels.
[singlepic id=2443 w=640 h= float=]
Traditional SUVs are not supposed to be fast, handle well, or be proficient on the racetrack at all. Instead, they have been off-road capable people-carriers until BMW and other automakers began to change the mindset of the automotive world. The German SUV was the first all-wheel drive model to be tuned by the in-house M-performance division at BMW and boasts impressive performance and styling, especially with its COR Bayonet forged wheels.
[singlepic id=2444 w=640 h= float=]
Powering the BMW performance SUV is a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 engine that sends 555 horsepower to each of the lightweight forged wheels. It’s even a dynamic handler from the factory, with its suspension optimized for high-speed corners instead of all-terrain situations. But it’s the COR Bayonet wheels that really allow this Bavarian-tuned SUV to show its true colors on and off the track.
[singlepic id=2418 w=640 h= float=]
COR wheels installed a set of their Bayonet forged wheels on the BMW X5M in a massive 22 x 10 front and rear setup to expand its footprint as much as possible. The forged aluminum alloy construction of the Bayonet wheels help to reduce weight at the wheel hub and improve overall vehicle performance while retaining unmatched strength and durability characteristics.
[singlepic id=2317 w=640 h= float=]
Not only do the new 22-inch COR Bayonet forged wheels improve the overall performance of the BMW X5M, but they also give it a powerful, more athletic look with their concave design while their Gloss Black finish complements the stunning blue exterior paint.
[singlepic id=2318 w=640 h= float=]
A traditional SUV isn’t supposed to look this good; drive this fast; or handle this well, but you’ll be more than happy to drive this contradiction with COR Bayonet forged wheels.

A Study in Style.
The first generation of the Mercedes-Benz CLS was an incredibly popular car when it was first unveiled to the public. It successfully combined the practicality of a sedan with a sleek coupe design that oozed style out of every pore. It was so popular that it single-handedly created the “four-door coupe” segment and convinced other automakers to develop their own cars that fit into the niche. The second-generation of the CLS looks to carry on the success of the first generation with more modern styling and technology.
[singlepic id=2307 w=640 h= float=]
The newest generation of the Mercedes-Benz CLS is just starting to hit the streets around the world and COR Wheels is showing owners how to transform it into the ultimate boulevard cruiser with unmatched style using COR Cipher wheels. The Cipher wheels are a part of the COR Classic series and are constructed using high-grade aerospace-quality 6061-T6 forged aluminum alloy that is lighter and stronger than traditional cast wheels.
[singlepic id=2312 w=640 h= float=]
On this 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS 550, a set of three-piece COR Cipher forged wheels were installed in a stylish staggered fitment to reflect the power and design of the four-door coupe. Each ten-spoke wheel features a light and super concave design that gives the CLS 550 a more muscular and visually wider stance than the stock setup.
[singlepic id=2310 w=640 h= float=]
The COR Cipher wheels were installed in a staggered setup to emphasize the sleek, muscular design of the CLS 550. Each wheel was finished with a hand-brushed center and a shiny chrome lip to match the exterior paint of the four-door coupe. The front axle wears a pair of light concave 20 x 9.0 wheels, while the rear was equipped with a super concave set measuring 20 x 11.0. To further improve the ride quality, new 255/30-20 front and 305/25-20 tires were installed.
[singlepic id=2308 w=640 h= float=]
The upgraded COR Cipher wheels with concave design drastically change the character of the Mercedes-Benz CLS 550 and make it the ultimate boulevard cruiser.

It’s all about excess.
The BMW X6 M is one of those cars that just doesn’t make a lot of sense. It doesn’t offer any sort of additional cargo space, it doesn’t really go off-road, and it doesn’t have the same center of gravity as a true sports car. But who cares when you have 555 horsepower and a set of COR Levinson wheels?
[singlepic id=2215 w=640 h= float=]
Excess is the name of the game for the BMW X6 M. It has a high price tag and doesn’t offer the same utility as other cars, but it has that special BMW M touch that sets it apart from anything in its class. Its styling may be hit or miss depending on personal tastes, but with a set of COR Levinson forged wheels, it’s a guaranteed show stopper.
[singlepic id=2214 w=640 h= float=]
COR Levinson forged wheels were chosen for the German Sport Activity Coupe as they reflect the muscular looks and unbelievable performance of the X6 M. The COR Levinson wheel offers a slight concave design that oozes confidence and power, and gives any vehicle a dynamic stance.
[singlepic id=2213 w=640 h= float=]
The Alpine White 2012 BMW X6 M was fitted with a staggered set of COR Levinson wheels in a 22 x 10 front and 22 x 12 rear setup. Each wheel was given Matte Seal Grey centers with a hand brushed Titanium Clear outer rim. Custom billet “FTW” center caps were also fitted as a unique extra to the stunning fitment.
[singlepic id=2212 w=640 h= float=]
To help put all 555 horsepower to the ground, the Levinson wheels were all fitted with grippy Pirelli PZero rubber. The 285/35/22 front and 335/30/22 rear setup will help improve handling for the SAC and reach a 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds from rest.
A 555 horsepower BMW X6 M with COR Levinson wheels is definitely worthy of a “For the Win.”

Shocking performance and style.
COR wheels have been fitted to almost every kind of luxury, performance, and exotic automobile on the market and have provided these cars with unmatched style and sport. But this is possibly the first ever time that COR wheels have found their way on a one-off, custom-built, electric car.
[singlepic id=2180 w=640 h= float=]
Built in collaboration with Kustom Signals and LIPI (Indonesian Institute of Sciences) the new SV-1 is a fully electric custom-built car designed to provide green performance and audio bliss. The SV-1 is based on the Nissan Cefiro and uses an Advance Series DC 144 V/500 A electric motor to power the rear wheels in combination with 45 lithium ion batteries, each with the same strength as a 3.8-volt battery.
[singlepic id=2181 w=640 h= float=]
The SV-1 can be charged using a normal outlet or though a charging station. Charging the SV-1 through a household outlet can take six to eight hours, while a charging station finishes the job in a mere 30 minutes. Special solar panels were also installed on the hood of the car to help cool the engine while the car is being operated.
[singlepic id=2182 w=640 h= float=]
One of the goals for the SV-1 was to keep weight at a minimum. The team was able to achieve this goal by utilizing COR Cipher wheels. These wheels were chosen for their high-strength forged construction and low overall weight. Each wheel was given a hand brushed finish with glimmering chrome lips for a modern style. The COR Cipher forged wheels were installed in a 20 x 12.5 front and rear setup and fitted with 275/40/20 Yokohama Advan Tires, providing the SV-1 with a wide footprint.
[singlepic id=2183 w=640 h= float=]
The team also removed the roof and constructed much of the SV-1 using carbon fiber and aluminum. The use of lightweight materials, along with the lightweight COR Cipher wheels helped bring weight down to just 1,650 lbs.
[singlepic id=2184 w=640 h= float=]
One of the other unique aspects of the SV-1 is the sound system used throughout the interior. Alpine supplied each of the four speakers, the subwoofer, and head unit to give the SV-1 a sound system that rivals that of high-end cars. Alpine also provided the team with four monitors that can be configured for entertainment, navigation, and rear view camera use. The entire interior including electronics are water-proof to protect against unexpected precipitation.
[singlepic id=2185 w=640 h= float=]
While the Kustom Signals SV-1 will never see production, it is guaranteed to be a stylish head-turner with it’s COR Cipher wheels and unique design.
